Traffic Conditions Route G-21 – Farellones Road | Winter 2026:

Between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM, there will be no traffic in either direction on restricted days. Schedules are subject to change by the Carabineros (Chilean police) depending on traffic and weather conditions.

Road notes

Mandatory use of snow chains for two-wheel drive vehicles.
Carrying snow chains is mandatory.

Carrying snow chains —in good condition and of the appropriate size— is mandatory whenever a Preventive Early Warning has been issued by SENAPRED.

The Municipality of Lo Barnechea and Carabineros will define the authorized points for installing snow chains.

Installing snow chains in unauthorized areas or continuing the ascent without snow chains when required by the authority will not be permitted.

In case of non-compliance, Carabineros and the Municipality may deny access to the road or to Valle Nevado.
