Image Quest Valle Nevado, presented by Lan Airlines and Skiing Magazine, is a unique opportunity for enthusiastic amateurs and budding professionals alike to explore and improve their photography skills and styles while reveling in a spectacular ski experience deep in the heart of the magnificent Andes Mountains. With a 3-to-1 student-to-instructor ratio, participants are given the rare chance to learn from some the best ski, travel and outdoor photographers working today, including Nils Schlebusch, Grant Gunderson and Tom Winter, while enjoying the unparalleled terrain, views, snow, and friendly ambiance of Valle Nevado.This year’s Image Quest Photo Camp takes place August 9-16. Outdoor sessions will give photographers the chance to take on challenging weather and light conditions as well as working directly with professional athletes. The outdoor component will be complimented by Image Quest’s Après Ski Seminars covering everything from workflow and archive strategies to mastering Photoshop and making the most of low-fi devices. These informative group sessions will provide the essentials necessary to take your photography to the next level.
Participants are invited to show their best shots as part of a slideshow for all Valle Nevado guests at the end of the week. Participating photographers are also automatically qualified to compete for the chance to have one of their images published in the pages of Skiing magazine, among other prizes. Select images from participants will also be promoted on Valle Nevado’s site for further exposure.

PARTICIPATION IN THE WEEKLONG IMAGE QUEST SEMINAR COSTS $700, not including accommodations or air travel to/from Santiago International Airport. Includes in-country transit, welcome party, awards night, guiding services and all photography instruction and Après Ski Seminars.
About the photographer instructors:
From fashion shoots in Las Vegas to interiors in New York to editorial projects for Ski Magazine, you name it and Nils Schlebusch has shot it. Schlebusch’s high fashion photography is complemented by work for many of the world’s best travel magazines, including Condé Nast Traveler, Travel & Leisure, Town and Country and more. His commercial clients include Hewlett-Packard, Scotland Tourism Board and Keiko.
Grant Gunderson exploded into the photography scene with hauntingly beautiful images of skiing the Pacific Northwest. Today, he’s considered one of the ski industry’s most dedicated photographers. Grant has shot for every major snow sports and outdoor publication worldwide including ESPN, Outside, FHM, Powder, Aka Skidor, Fri Flyt, Skiing and others. In addition to his editorial and commercial photography, he is also the photography editor of The Ski Journal.
With more than 20 years experience as an editor, writer and photographer, Tom Winter is an expert on visual storytelling. One of the most published ski writers of his generation, Tom has launched magazines, developed communication strategies for brands, organized world-class events, led expeditions and yes, taken a few photos. A three-time recipient of the Howard Hirsch Award for snow sports photography and a social media communications expert, Tom currently runs a media relations consultancy in addition to his editorial and commercial work.
As a publisher, editor and artist, Keri Bascetta’s experience is diverse and wide-ranging. Recent positions include Director of Photography for SKI & Skiing Magazines, Photo Editor for Warren Miller Entertainment, Associate Produce for Picture Society and judge in the Arc'teryx Deep Winter photo competition in Whistler. She will also serve as a judge for the PDN's Great Outdoors Photo Contest this spring. Currently a freelance photographer, Keri’s studio, travel and portrait photography has been published in SKI Magazine, Skiing Magazine, Elevation Outdoors and Freeskier.
