Work to improve Route G-251 began more than a month ago, with much progress already made to improving access to Valle Nevado.
Major road reconstruction to bring Route G-251 (better known as the road to Farallones / Valle Nevado) up to national standards of excellence began in December, to increase road safety and improve access to the mountain overall.
During the next few months, construction will consist of milling and retreading work, as well as new asphalt, lane demarcation and metal barriers between Kilometer 2 and 6 and between Curve 6 and 14. These sections will be completed at the end of December and the beginning of April 2013, respectively.
The road projects will ensure higher levels of security and convenience and better facilities, which will in turn improve the experience for tourists from Chile and abroad during the winter season.
In December, the Valle Nevado offered an attractive deal that gave snow lovers the opportunity to buy their passes and coupons at unbeatable prices.
As happens every year, returning skiers and snowboarders had access to 2013 Season Passes and coupons at very affordable prices thanks to the campaign that Valle Nevado carried out in December aiming to benefit all the individuals who return to the ski resort year after year.
Hundreds of people visited the website, www.vallenevado.com, to purchase these products online and take advantage of great discounts on many other services that Valle Nevado provides during the Ski Season.
This sale got the motors running for another great snow season to come.
The event will provide thousands of people with the chance to get out in the fresh mountain air and enjoy the winter sports at hand while taking in all that the Andes has to offer.
As in years past, the Ski Resort showed up once again at several high school graduation celebrations in Santiago, raffling off the spectacular gift of 2013 Season Passes.
The end of the year brings hundreds of high school graduations which fill the halls of events centers with young people celebrating the end of their grammar school years and looking toward what their university years will bring.
In order to reward the promising academic results and to be part of the celebrations, Valle Nevado was present once again for graduations at schools such as Las Ursulinas, Huelen, Southland, Apoquindo Femenino, San Benito, Cumbres, Francisco de Asís, Padre Hurtado y Juanita de los Andes, and more, and gave away a 2013 Season Pass at each one of the events.
This gift from Valle Nevado brought joy to all the winners who will soon form part of the thousands of tourists to arrive this coming year at the ski resort to enjoy the best snow in the Southern Hemisphere.
This summer, just like every year, Valle Nevado is sponsoring a number of exciting outdoor championships that provide a place for young and old alike to enjoy their vacation to the max.
On January 11, the Cachagua BowlPark was converted into the epicenter of the “Best Amateur Trick” Competition, which brought together the best skaters in this category. At this event, Valle Nevado gave away day passes and other exciting prizes to the participants.
After wowing the crowd with their skating tricks and jumps, Martin Molina took home first prize in the men’s under 12 category, while Sophia Cook took first place on the podium in the category women’s under 12, thanks to her outstanding presentation.
Vicente Sarroca and his “Hand Plant” trick earned first place in the under 16 category, receiving admiring recognition from everyone in the crowd.
With this, Valle Nevado kicked off the summer activities that the ski resort will be sponsoring throughout the upcoming months along the many beaches of Chile, aiming to create fun and unique places for the athletically inclined to delight in.
