VALLE NEVADO CHOSEN BY NY POST AS IDEAL SUMMER GETAWAY
Valle Nevado was singled out by the New York Post as one of the Top 8 “Great Ways to Beat the Heat this Month” for North Americans in August. The NY Post, with a combined circulation of more than 14 million readers, is one of the largest newspapers in the United States and is read by not just New Yorkers but North Americans across the country. The article stated that “Just a short drive out of Santiago, the outstanding Valle Nevado resort isn’t for the timid — think tough runs, crazy storms that can strand you up there for days and lots of challenging off-piste opportunities, plus South America’s top terrain park. Then again, it also functions well as a resort, with good restaurants and bars and plenty of activities. Also: Sitting by the fireplace sipping on pisco sours and looking out at the snow in the middle of August? RIDE GUIDE SHOWCASES THE BEST OF VALLE NEVADO
Valle Nevado has been playing across television sets throughout the US and Canada on the popular snowsports show Ride Guide, aired on Outdoor Life Network and Outside Television. The show follows Canadian skiers and snowboarders Chris Ruebens, Spencer Francey, and local David Owens as they ski and ride fresh powder, hike the back bowl of Valle Nevado, and even take a heliski run. The Ride Guide episodes will run for more than 3 years and will be shown throughout Europe on National Geographic Television.
SPYDER AND VALLE NEVADO ALLIANCE A TOTAL SUCCESS
The Valle Nevado and Spyder clothing and gear alliance has proved to be extremely popular with skiers and snowboarders who have visited the resort so far this year. WINES OF CHILE ANNOUNCES WINNER OF VALLE NEVADO – LAN CONTEST
Wines of Chile and Valle Nevado formed a promotional alliance in 2011 that culminated with a sensational party in New York City’s Puro Chile shop in SoHo and the launch of the “Sips and Slopes” contest. The contest, whose prize include roundtrip airfare on LAN for two and a 5-night stay at Valle Nevado, required participants to write a haiku about Chile and travel, and tweet the haiku using the hashtag #SipsSlopes. The contest was promoted through Wines of Chile, Valle Nevado and LAN, reaching an astonishing 114 million media impressions. The winner of the contest was Chris Tilley of Washington DC, who submitted: Chile has it all. Coastal mountain grandeur. And joy from the vine.
VALLE’S NEW CONDOR II APARTMENT OPENS
The brand-new Condor II apartment, the most recent lodging option to open on the mountain, is now available for temporary rentals for skiers and snowboarders seeking independent lodging. The new apartment is just another stage of Valle Nevado’s grand Master Plan to develop a mountain village over the next decade. The apartments give visitors more freedom by offering kitchens, terraces, underground parking, and living areas.
DAY VISITORS ENJOY CONVENIENCE OF NEW PARKING AND SERVICE AREA
Skiers and snowboarders who head to Valle Nevado for the day have enjoyed Valle Nevado’s new parking lot and service area, providing easier access to the slopes and ticket and rental kiosks. The new parking lot will feature even more services in 2012, along with the installation of the resort’s new gondola, a first for Chilean ski resorts. The parking lot is located at “curve 17″ just minutes before arriving at the resort.
