Chris Nguyen, a Canadian from Brampton, Ontario is stoked right about now.

Nguyen was recently chosen as the winner of the TransWorld SNOWboarding ‘Win A Free Trip To Chile’ contest, sponsored by Valle Nevado, LAN, Burton, and Mammoth. The contest, which included specific conditions and restrictions, includes a trip for two to Chile for seven nights and eight days, with lodging and lift tickets from Valle Nevado Ski Resort, round trip plane tickets from LAN Airlines, plus two brand new Burton snowboard setups. The contest was open to residents of the US and Canada.

“This contest raised awareness of the amazing riding and winters the Southern Hemisphere offers to many North American snowboarders,” comments TransWorld SNOWboarding Photo Editor Chris Wellhausen. “It also gives the lucky winner a chance to travel, shred, and explore new cultures and mountains. Traveling in search of snow and culture is one of the best things about snowboarding.”

Thanks to all of the sponsors, this chance was made possible for a lucky winner and a friend to experience some of the most amazing terrain in the Chilean Andes. “Valle Nevado is stoked to host Chris and his brother for this summer powder trip to the best resort in Chile,” adds Valle Nevado’s Arnau Fernandez. “We can’t wait to show them the Chilean vibe, food, and culture.”

When asked how he felt when he found out he won, Nguyen responded, “I’m so stoked! This is an opportunity of a lifetime. I really thought it was all a joke, but I was so wrong… I’m still in shock! WOOT!” After battling and brainstorming ideas on how to choose who he would bring, Chris ultimately decided he would pick the person most responsible for introducing him to snowboarding— his older brother, Nick. “He’s going to owe me big time now,” commented Nguyen.
